Amazing value, 2 Dec 2007 By C. FOX - See all my reviews Fun: Firstly I must admit, I haven't received mine yet because I only ordered it last night with FIFA 08. £299 total is fantastic value and trust me, it is below cost. The software in the PS3 crushes Wii or 360.

Sony just need to sell more units now and that will all it will take to tip the scales. I don't like childish and gimmicky Mario games anyway so I didn't even consider the Wii. Don't waste the potential of the very powerful ps3 software/blu ray over the meager price difference now. BUY THIS CONSOLE FOR CHRISTMAS OR NOW! GTA 4 and Unreal Tournament will blow 2008 away. Comment (1) | Permalink | Was this review helpful to you? (Report this) next gen, 30 Nov 2007 By ASH "arca7" - See all my reviews Fun: Hello reader! This review is not a review of the console alone but rather the ideal one for you. For those who are deciding whether to get a Playstation or a Xbox for Xmas this year. I shall be totally honest here and I am sure many would agree: Playstation's newest console is by far the better console in terms of ability and in the way it has been built with very few problems and a quiet fan in comparison to the 360. So basically the plasytation itself is a much better machine. online however, the 360 is much smoother and much more organised for chatting perposes. this is a major positive for microsoft. Another positive is the range in games in comparison to the playstation's but then you could argue the 360 has been round much longer. being an unbiased rater, I feel that whichever console you choose to buy you will be satisfied in different ways. Depending on your gaming interests, I would say that Playstation has a positive future its just got off to a slow start but with the likes of the best game ever on the way (metal gear solid) and various other exclusives, Gran Turismo, killzone and Haze there is much to come. Then again Xbox is always getting fabulous titles like Fable, Gears of war, Mass effect and so on. So in the end my view is balanced and being owner of both consoles I have a pretty strong view. However overall if i was to choose a console I'd choose for the remainder of the next generation of gaming I think i'd probably choose xbox360 for the sole reason that there are far more games for my liking and many online advantages. But, the negative for the 360 is the danger of the console itself going wrong (the red ring of death). so its a risky console which is why I love the PS3's machine so much more. I hope I have reviewed this fairly and helped those of you that are unsure of the ideal console...of course though tehre is the Wii, if you can get hold of one but I will say that the Wii is only good fun at first ( a novelty) unless you buy it for family perposes. It is not made for a single person...it must be a family machine. thanks and have a great Xmas people. Comment (1) | Permalink | Was this review helpful to you? Creasy "glenn3305" (England) - See all my reviews Fun: The PS3 is the best console ever, it may not have the games just yet but there coming, its very reliable and quiet and runs fantastic and has a blue ray player built in one of the best on the market i heard! All i can say is its an investment and an amazing machine, there'll be no stopping it next year! Comment (1) | Permalink | Was this review helpful to you? Media card reader removed. Hard drive now only 40 gig standard which will be to small when game streaming(like you have on PC now)etc comes into use, the developers can only use the standard built in drive sizes(no matter what size drive you may install yourself later) and 40 gig is a step backwards. Most USB ports removed now only "Two at the front none at the back!"(who wants USB ports at the front on a games console?) No Dual shock games available (dull no feedback fighting and driving games) and no must have titles. The Xbox 360 Elite 120 gig hard drive is a far better choice of the Two systems ESPECIALLY as its xbox 1 backward compatible and from 4th Dec you will be able to download xbox 1 games, High Definition films etc direct to hard drive(including Blu Ray titles from Disney etc), which really removes any reason to own a High definition dvd HD-Dvd or BluRay drive etc. And the Elite has by far the biggest and best library of games and which of course "all" use dual shock/forced feedback)....
